Bill Gross, founder of the IdeaLab, spoke at TED recently and shared his thoughts on why startups succeed. His research resulted in a ranking that should focus every CEO on on thing: Their Team. While timing was his number one factor, it is impossible for an existing company to change their timing into the market. Your already there, too early or too late, you can’t change it now. (sorry!)
On the other hand, his second factor, the team and execution, can be improved immediately. Smart businesses are constantly working to improve their teams by hiring smarter and managing more effectively.
