Aretha Franklin sang it and managers in successful companies echo it. Show your employees respect and they will respond in kind. We hear if from employees every day. In many cases they just want their bosses to listen to them and understand their issues. That does not mean they want to run the show. To the contrary, most believe that the boss is far better equipped to make the critical decisions. However, the do believe that those decisions would be better and fairer if the boss understood them.
